Moroccan Universities Excel at International Mobility 2023 in Istanbul
From 24 October to 1 November 2023, a distinguished delegation from nine Moroccan universities participated in an international academic event held in Istanbul, Turkey. This mobility program was organized in collaboration with Ibn Tofail University (Kenitra, Morocco), École Supérieure d’Ingénieurs en Informatique, Électronique et Automatique (Paris, France), and Sabahattin Zaim University (Istanbul, Turkey).
The program was presided over by Professor Khadija Slimani, Moroccan academic at the Paris engineering school, whose leadership ensured the successful coordination of Moroccan universities, the integration of diverse PhD research fields, and the smooth execution of the scientific program. She worked alongside Professor Jawad Rachid from the host university to create a highly engaging and collaborative academic experience.
Professor Mohamed Al-Arabi Karkab, President of Ibn Tofail University, expressed gratitude to Sabahattin Zaim University for their warm reception of the Moroccan delegation, highlighting the strength of international academic partnerships.

Professor Slimani also presented the program’s scientific objectives, highlighting the representation of PhD students across multiple disciplines: Economics (41.9%), Information Technology (19.4%), and Medical, Biological, and Health Sciences (16.1%+).
As part of the mobility, participants attended in-person presentations by Professor Ahmet Kaplan, Head of the Computer Engineering Department, and Professor Murat Dogruel, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Sabahattin Zaim University. Delegates also visited research laboratories, engaging directly with PhD students and research coordinators. Key research topics included:

The 2023 mobility exemplified the rich contributions of Moroccan universities to international research collaboration.
